This page and those following (unless otherwise noted) are part of the original host volume, which is a liturgical book for the Mass of the Roman Catholic church. The chant here is part of Pro Defunctis or Chant for the Dead. This page also has a repair in which a strip of parchment was glued to the outer and lower margin to support the worn leaf. This is but one example of multiple repairs of this kind. Many such repairs are glued or stitched over existing inscription or notation, some purposefully to occlude script and notation, others inadvertently do so.
