This would appear to
be the true reading. See Petit's Comment. and the note of Ermerins. In all the MSS. it is
τριχάδα. | καὶ τὸν τῆς
κυστίδος τράχηλον, ἔς τε τὴν τῶν λίθων ἔκπτωσιν καὶ τὴν τῶν
οὔρων ἔκχυσιν. καὶ μάλιστα μὲν ἀκέσασθαι ἐς ὠτειλὴν ἄγοντα
τὸ τρῶμα· ἢν δὲ μὴ, ῥΥάδα γενέσθαι τοῦ οὔρου βέλτιον ἐς τὸν
αὖθις τοῦ ἀνθρώπου βίον, ἢ τῇ ὀδύνῃ οἰκτίστως
θανεῖν.
In the MSS. the reading is ῥΟιάδα

Ἡ ὑστέρη τῇσι γυναιξὶ ὑμένων ἀποτάσιας ἔνθα καὶ ἔνθα κατὰ
λαγόνας ἴσχει, ἀτὰρ ἠδὲ ζῴου πάθη ἐν ὀσφρήσι · ἴεται γὰρ ἐπὶ
τοῖσι εὐώδεσι πρὸς ἡδονὴν, καὶ τὰ κάκοσμα καὶ ἀτερπέα ὑπὸ
ἀχθηδόνος φεύγει. ἢν μὲν ὦν τῶν ἄνω τι λυπῇ,
πρόεισι γυναικηί̈ων ἔξω.
All the
commentators are agreed that the common reading, προσιόντων,
cannot stand. I have followed Ermerins in adopting a conjectural
emendation suggested by Petit in part.

ὑπὸ φλεγμασίης . καὶ γὰρ προπετεστέρη τῷ πάθεϊ καὶ τῷ ὄγκῳ
τοῦ αὐχένος γίγνεται· ἡ γὰρ κατὰ πυθμένα φλεγμασίη ἄνω ῥέΠει,
ἢν μὲν ἐς πόδας, ἔξω.
It must be admitted, that the text is not in a satisfactory state; and yet I have not seen
any emendation which I can think of adopting. For πάθεϊ,
Ermerins reads βάθεϊ, which occurs in the margin of
Henisch's edition; but I am not aware that this term is ever applied to any part of the uterus.
The same objection applies to his use of τὼ πόδε in the
next sentence. Were I disposed to meddle with the text at all, I should substitute
βάρεϊ. | ἀσηρὸν μὲν ὦν καὶ ἀλεγεινον,
καὶ ἀτερπές· δύσχρηστον δὲ
